Jan. 2 creation: a pillow made from scrap material. I didn't want all this material to go to waste after a film project that I worked on was over, so I kept it with the intention of making something. Tonight, I made something.
Why a pillow? Well, I haven't sewn in a long while, so I wanted to start off with something easy. I also wanted to make something functional. The bright gold color is very inviting and the fabric has a fun texture. This material was used for the curtains on set, but I always thought it would make for a good decorative cushion on a couch too. The striped material was used for the walls on set, but here, it's just an accent to the pillow. With all the textures and colors already on the pillow, I knew that the stitching couldn't just be a simple stitch. So, I opted for a bold zigzag in a maroon thread. This pillow is not perfect, but it has a humble story.
My thoughts, writings, and experiments. Big or small. They're here.
