I'M SO EXCITED!
The official music video will be released tomorrow, May 8 on YouTube. Mark your calendars. :)
Over the past few months, I collaborated with some old college friends to produce a music video for Gabe Cruz.
I met Gabe back during my days at UCSD in the Theatre Department. We took vocal class together, and I remember thinking that his sound was very unique. He reminded me of a present-day Johnny Cash in some regard with his deep voice and Americana songwriting.
Our friend, Sam--who directed my Love of Mine music video--texted me one day asking if I'd help with Gabe's project. It was a group of old friends coming together to support our fellow artist and UCSD alum... how could I say no?
We filmed in North Hollywood, Los Angeles during the course of 1 weekend. After being a San Diegan for 5+ years, I never felt so "LA" as I did while filming this project (in the best way possible). Cheers to a rad project!
Also, I want to give a special thanks to my friends at GoodGaff Productions (Dima & Ly). They were awesome camera crew partners on set. Fun fact: Dima was the editor for my Love of Mine music video and will be collaborating with me again on an upcoming project!
When I moved back to Orange County, I knew I wanted to connect with other artists. Lucky for me, this wasn't too difficult of a goal to accomplish. Meet Krista Marina. She is a singer-songwriter with a lovely, jazzy voice. She has a sweet, warmth that is apparent upon first meet. The first time we met, we chatted over coffee, filmed a live session, and took some photos...
She's a natural in front of the camera, so we decided to do another photo sesh a few months later. Here's peek:
Krista is performing around the OC and LA area. Check out her music and social media from her website.
Side note: Funny enough... we have the same producer.
Photos taken at The LAB and Facade Funhouse in Costa Mesa, CA.
In the spirit of celebrating strong women this International Women's Day, here are some photos that I took recently as part of Eastside Christian Church's Serve Day. I love how these women break the norms and exercise their God-given strengths and talents to make a difference in the community.
My thoughts, writings, and experiments. Big or small. They're here.
